Criminal Law Expungement

The law in New Jersey allows for expungement as well as post conviction relief with respect to certain convictions. There are legal requirements, statutory requirements, as we call them, which limit or restrict the ability to expunge. That depends on the seriousness of the underline offense, the number of prior convictions an individual has. We need to review a certified abstract of the individuals for criminal records to determine the exact parameters, what can and can’t be expunged or what is subject to post conviction relief.
