What to Do If You Are Arrested on a Criminal Charge

If you’re arrested on a criminal charge, number one, you should cooperate with the police. Don’t give them a hard time. By that I mean to show some respect, don’t argue with the police officer at the scene, you can always come in and talk to me and I’ll advise you what your rights are and whether or not they were following the proper procedures. But the first thing to do is cooperate with the officer, they’ll give you a call, arrange for somebody to come down and pick you up or to post bail as the case may be. If you are charged with something very serious you’ll be given a bail hearing and if you can’t post the bail you’ll be remanded to the jail until your next court date. So it’s always important to try and contact somebody to post your bail, and my advise to you is come and see me. I offer a free consultation. I’ll sit down and I’ll talk with you and hopefully advise you of your rights and we can set upon a path to provide a defense for you.
